What a funk!

I love when my day begins with agonizing stress and worry...

NOT.

Breakfast:
16 oz cold water
1 whole banana
1 slice whole grain bread
1 boiled egg
1 large coffee, cream -no sugar

Vitamins:
1 Flintstones multivitamin with Choline
1 folic acid
1 fish oil/omega 3, borax and flax seed combo pill thing.

The reason I take Flintstones as opposed to a normal, adult multivitamin, is because whenever I take normal multis (I'm specifically talking Centrum at this point) I get a stomachache so bad, and it moves into my back and I can't do anything but lay down for about half an hour until it dissipates. I always forget to ask my doctor why that would be.

At the close of 2009 and into the first month of 2010, I was pregnant for the first time (I later miscarried) but the OB/GYN recommended that I take Flintstones as opposed to pre-natals. So now, I take one in the morning with my breakfast (when I remember).

I'm working on that large coffee right now and thinking positive thoughts. Come on, Peter Pan.

A day of Eh

Started out with a less than exemplary morning, as far as breakfast goes...well, mostly that I just didn't eat enough.

I woke up and gave a JOLT to my system (as recommended by nutritionists) by drinking 16 oz of very cold water. I waited about 10 minutes and continued on to...

Breakfast:
1 piece of whole wheat toast with 1/2 tsp of butter
1 whole banana
1 large coffee with cream - no sugar.

I hope I have time to get a workout in before my second shift at 5:00 today. I have a fairly long commute though, so we'll see.

Feeling slightly more brave today. If I keep up eating well, I might just be feeling spunky and enthusiastic enough to get up a before picture. My husband inspired me with his P90x Week 5 pictures in which his biceps look like anacondas that have swallowed giant pigs, and his obliques are bulging sexily out of his side. Mmmmm.

Work passed by to noon with a fair amount of productivity.

Lunch
6 oz. beef tips and eggs noodles
3 oz. steamed veg. (squash, zucchini, carrots and green beans)
1/2 wheat roll

Might I add that 4-5 days out of the week I work at an Assisted Living Facility where lunch is provided to me, so the portions are generally small and absolutely without seasoning...I guess that's a good thing for my specific purposes.

It doesn't help that my brother and stepfather for my birthday last night, stocked the house with chocolate donuts and star-crunchies...WHY OH WHY?!

Added later:

Like I said, the whole point of publishing a blog about my food intake and workout schedule was so that I could hold myself accountable, right?

Ok....this is embarassing, even if it is just for myself.

When I got off my first shift at 3:00 and made it home at 3:30, I had a small sliver of chocolate cake for a snack...leftover birthday cake...

and I'm even more ashamed to admit that when I got home from my second shift at 8:15, I had YET ANOTHER small slice of chocolate cake and a glass of milk and considered it my dinner before going to bed. I'm so ashamed. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Happy Birthday To Me

This is the only way to hold myself accountable I think. Let the blogging begin:

Today is June 7th, 2010. It's my 22nd birthday. My husband celebrated his last week on the first. No doubt my birthday celebrations will be slightly more extravagant than his...though he is in the Middle East so I guess that's to be expected. He does like to give me a LOT of shit for my terrible eating habits though, so I figure this will be a good chance for him to also keep track of my successes/failures. We shall see...

My main method is going to be kettlebell training. I started with kettlebells back in February and saw some really tremendous results before I slacked off in April, when my husband and I were doing a lot of traveling and letting the workouts fall by the wayside.

For an early birthday gift, my husband, Robbie purchased both of Lauren Brooks' "Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells" DVDs and I will be following them to the letter 4x a week, mixed in with walking, jogging, jump-roping and proper nutrition.

And hopefully some painfully embarrassing before pictures and some super-successful, well-sculpted after pictures will provide an swift kick of motivation.

And away we go...

SO

Breakfast
Blue Machine Naked Juice
4 oz. Red Grapes
1 Liter water
1 large coffee, cream - no sugar

Lunch
4 oz Lean Pork
2 oz Sweet mashed potatoes sweetened with pineapple juice
3 oz Steamed cauliflower

Snack
handful of Ritz pretzel crip bite cracker things

Dinner
1 Cup chicken and dumplings

Dessert
1 small slice homemade chocolate birthday cake.

All in all, after a very heavy dinner, call me crazy but I'm not really feeling up to posting a nauseatingly bloated before picture. Reprieve until tomorrow? ACCOUNTABILITY!
